RGC Emergency Procedures

Fire Alarm

Once the children have registered with us and are in our care the following procedures will be  followed:

If the fire alarm sounds, it must be treated as genuine and the building must be evacuated.

All the gymnasts will be lined up by their coaches and taken out via the nearest and safest fire  escape doors and will be taken to the assembly point. A coach will call the register to ensure  everyone is out of the building.

You must not re-enter the building until directed to do so by either the fire service or your coach Medical Emergency

Lead coaches who are first aid trained will assess the situation and proceed with the appropriate  medical attention needed. Another Lead coach or Admin Member will call an ambulance and  parents. The incident will be recorded in the Accident and Incident book, by the Lead Coach. British  Gymnastics will be notified.

Power Loss

If the power were to go out, we would lose use of the electric door and lighting, therefore the  children would be escorted to the fire doors, by the emergency lights, and counted as we meet in  the assembly point

Terrorist attack/Violent Incident

If there were to be a terrorist attack the building will go into lock down. A member of the school  staff will lock up the building to ensure maximum safety. All gymnasts and Academy Coaches will be  hidden as well as possible.
